Late model headlight

Post by seed » Sat May 01, 2010 12:36 am

Hello everyone,

I just ordered a headlight for my 1967 CP77 from ebay. Turns out it doesn't fit. My headlight uses screws to be secured not springs/clips. There is also an adjustment screw on the bottom of my headlight. Does anyone here know what the part # is for my headlight or if it's compatible with any other models. I'm not sure if this helps but my headlight also has a pilot light.

Thanks and regards,

Seed

Nor sure of the part number. My 67 CL77 uses the same set up. I tied matching it up with a CB350 headlight, just different enough to not work. I think you'll have to find one from a 67 CB or CL.

Ok thanks Davomoto! I have a feeling that headlight was used on other models as well. Just not sure which ones.

Let me know if you figure out which other models! Try Nich at Ohio Cycles for a replacement.

That's good to know. I managed to cram a Hell H4 halogen reflector into my CB400F headlamp. Had to cut a hole in the plastic headlamp shell to let the pilot bulb holder poke through though....

My CB400F also ran a Lucas 3 phase rectifier when I found out that it cost about 1/4 the price of a new Honda one. I did 14,000 miles on my bike in the first year. Pretty reliable apart from burned-out rectifier, arcing (in the wet) plug leads and rusty front fork stanchions. Those were the days!
