Tail light wiring

Post by KentuckyDream » Mon Jul 28, 2008 8:49 pm

Recently replaced the tail light bulb and assembly. Now when I hit the rear break, it blows the main fuse. Do you think I have the wires crossed, or is it not grounded properly?

KD, Somewhere you have the brake light wire touching a ground, although I have seen a faulty bulb short the filiment to ground inside the bulb, but that is real rare. Check your wiring from the brake light switch to the bulb you should find it,Good Luck. Kustommusic

You nailed it. Rechecked all of the wiring, found where it was grounding out. Rewired, now it works perfectly. Thanks a bunch.
