Replacement Rims?/Color codesReplacement Rims?/Color codesI am at the beginning of a restoration and am having trouble tracking down replacement rims for a 66 Superhawk, does anyone have a good vendor for rims and spokes? Also, does anyone know the code and name of the blue used on the Superhawk?
Re: Replacement Rims?/Color codesCan, Welcome to the forum. I have had some luck with finding rims on e-Bay,also with a search you would find quite a few "retro" parts dealers. I am looking for spokes for mine(cb77) and can't say Iv'e had much luck. I found one set available at 45.oo plus shipping so that isn't too bad, should have bought them. Now I can't remember who it was! Iam of the opinion if your rims are straight you might want to just have them rechromed. (Strictly my opinion) Also dont overlook the new auction site here. Not alot of stuff yet but a great opertunity(sp?) good luck! Steve Greer
Re: Replacement Rims?/Color codes

Thanks for the welcome. I am getting pricing on chroming now, I'll look for spokes on eBay as you suggest. Later. Andrew
Re: Replacement Rims?/Color codesCan, There are a number of sites mentioned here on the board that would be better than e-Bay for spokes. Read thru some of the other posts for parts dealers and start with them. On my cb77 I found that the spokes measure 152mm or 6" in length but I don't know if the front and rear are different in thickness(wire size). Iv'e respoked a couple of rims now and found it to be fairly easy,so hope you plan to do that chore yourself. Good luck! Steve Greer
Re: Replacement Rims?/Color codesI just purchased 2 NOS "still in the original paper wrapper" from Ohio Cycle (phone: 440-647-2357 or www.ohiocycle.com). Haven't received them yet so I can't tell you what they look like. I will post another message once I receive them.

Good Luck,

Jeff L.
