Spoke sets can be bought fairly readily on Ebay, and I respoked them myself. The knowledge is probably cheaper, but I've got lots of wheelbuilding experience from bicycles.

They're very similar, but motorcycle rims are far stiffer, so trueing( making sure the rim is straight) isn't as big a deal as is centering the rim.

If you are using the stock rim and spoke set specific for the hub and rim, you are fine. Any questions, please e-mail me for more specific info.

Relacing of rims

Post by j666laz » Tue Aug 29, 2006 10:52 pm

I was lucky enough to get 2 brand new NOS (still in the original paper wrappers) from Ohio Cycle last summer. I had the old rims broken down and hubs relaced onto the new rims. The spokes, tire mounting and labor all came to $391.

Wheel lacing

Both of you gentlemen are braver and more patient than me! My hat is off to you for doing this yourself. Although I am very mechanically able, this is one thing I never was able to master.
