CA 77 tiresLooking good!
Thanks for posting the pics. If you don't mind, how about measuring the max width across the tire and the depth from rim edge to outer circumference. Also tread depth. I'll do the same with my 3.25's and we'll see just how much actual difference there is in sizes. Thanks 66 dream, 78 cb750k, 02fz1, 09 wing
ca 77 tiresthats exactly what i am hoping mine will look like when i get them done. i got kendras and the inserts. what brand tire did you go with?
62 CA77
65 CA77-parting out slowly I got some Kings Tire KT 918's (3.25-16) when they were still available.
I measured them as follows: 3.12" wide (inflated) 3.0" tall (outside edge of rim to outer edge of tire (inflated) 0.15" tread depth left (front) after 3,000 miles 0.05" tread depth left (rear) after 3,000 miles Seem to run a little small, as they should be 3.25" wide per the standard size charts. If someone else could measure and post some other brands and sizes in use it would be nice to compare. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/3/ ... -Tire.aspx 66 dream, 78 cb750k, 02fz1, 09 wing
dimentions of my tires (shown above) are as follows:
Width: 3.15 inches Hight: 3.12 inches Tread depth: .15 The whitewalls fit between the rim and the tire. On the outside of the insert there are a number of different raised ribs that follow the circumfrence of the insert. These alow you to press the whitewall into place and get an even edge distance all the way around the rim (you will feel them pop into place; tire slightly inflated). When you go to fully inflate the tire you will notice if any part of the insert needs to be pressed in anymore because it will bow out away from the tire. Once it's all perfectly in place it should fit in tightly all the way around the tire. If done right it won't require any glue or anything. An interference fit. Brewsky did a good job of describing installation under the "Alternative to Whitewalls" topic in the Honda Dream category. Hope this helps Jethro So it looks like the Sava and Kings 3.25-16's both run small compared to standard dimensioning of 3.25" wide.
Would be interesting to see actual dimensions of Coker Firestone, Chen Shing, and Original Nitto etc 3.25's Also 100/90 (the often recommended substitution for 3.25) 66 dream, 78 cb750k, 02fz1, 09 wing
