Can the bike be painted without tearing it apart.

I really want to paint my bike its original and still looks good for the age. I just don't want to take it apart to do so. In the past I have took them apart. I also would like to change it from the red to the white. Can anyone recommend the white they used? Also would it hurt to use a candy or pearl clear coat? I know they didn't come that way. Just seems to make the old bikes look better.

You'll love diamond white pearl (escalade paint) with sunset red pearl in the clearcoat, painted my '74 CB550 that way. I took my ca77 apart for painting; turned into a restoration. You CAN paint the bike without tearing it down; however you will need to take the front end off (easy) to do a good job.
