I got tired of hunting around for the elusive "dull aluminum" and settled on a real engine paint from Duplicolor, engine enamel CDE 1615 Aluminum and then clear coated it. Looks great if you ask me, I'm not doing a 100 pointer. Check out my resto posting for a look but of course it doesn't translate perfectly.

THANKS, Wilf,
Now at least I know what to order!
By the way, I purchased some high temp aluminum paint for the header flanges which appears to be pretty close.

Thanks for that. I'm thinking I will have to repaint my header flanges/collars and I don't know if the Krylon 1403 will do the job.

No problem.
I'm thinking I will just use the Rustoleum for the engine cover, starter, horn and triple clamp cover as well since it looks close enough for me.
See more pics in the other recent thread on Krylon.
Thanks again,
Brewsky

I've also only been able to find the interior use only version. Although many places had it listed in their computer system and interior/exterior even though the can says interior only. I think i'm going to try to find something else. The Duplicolor cast coat aluminum looks real close.
