Prepping for paint/Do it yourself or farm it out?

Post by outdoors4me » Wed Jul 19, 2017 7:39 pm

Hey guys,

I'm about to start tearing down my project bike. I desire to have it professionally painted but I'm open minded about painting is myself if I could get nice results.

One thing I don't want to do is prep. Is sand blasting the best way to have parts prepped?

For those who have painted themselves, do you use a compressor sprayer?

Thanks,

Beck

I farm out my prep work and have parts bead-blasted.

I paint myself using a small compressor and HVLP spray guns.

It depends also on the finish you want.

Very nice G-Man. I have to admit I had to google Bead Blasting.

Thanks!

What kind of paint do you use? Where do you purchase?
