Japan Meets Britain
The coachlining was actually Lee's idea -- we originally thought of painting those two rectangular indentations silver, but it didn't look quite right after it was done, so Lee thought of a coachline to bring out the guard's shape. And believe me, I'm done with chroming chain guards. I really like the shape of a Norton Domi 88 chain guard, and I think this one has elements of it. Plus, it's all rubber mounted, and I now have that fourth mounting point just ahead of the shock, so this should hopefully be the final word on a chain guard for my bike. Now I can get down to doing some riding!
Guess so!
Picked up the bike today and everything is fine -- bike runs much better, and that bbbrrraaa bbrrraaa bbrrraaa sound is gone. Idles well too! Here are a few more shots of the bike -- I may end up getting rid of the coachlines and just go with plain black, but I'll ride it for now and see.
