Just out of curiosity, what's the difference between the 61 seat and the rest? I know that the rear bracket location on certain seats was located at different lengths from the front. Since I'm assembling these, the measurements can vary accordingly.GORDON BROWN wrote:Hello everyone
A bit late as usual with this but I read the ebay advert that you refered to and it suggests that the seat is a early one (with red foam) and fits all models? I dont think this is the case as my one and the one you are using as a pattern both use "red foam" and I imagine they are both for the 62 onwards machines. Its not a big issue as I dont think that many people will be looking for them for 61 bikes but you never know?
I hope you get on well with the seats, at least people will know what they are getting.

Any interest in race seat replicas?
Re: CYB seatsRe: CYB seatsI think the only difference is length. Remember Joe that the seat that I sent you was too short for my '64 frame. It didn't bother me cause I was going to make brackets anyway, but you may want to check your frame and see if it will fit. I am still unsure about the difference in frame lengths vs the year they were produced. My frame measures about 14.25 inches and the seat brackets are and inch shorter.
Re: CYB seatsThanks. I will be testing it on my bike double check the bracket locations. I have a 67. -Joe
CYB seatHello everyone
I think (better check this) the early ones, with flattened tube type ends are a bit shorter but dont have a measurement. I hope this is correct, it's definately worth checking first. I could measure some points on my one if it would help but it would not be till Sunday. Yours Gordon SAFOJ
I have a few seat pans of newer models here as well. Taking the measurements, the ones off of the race seat is 13-7/8" from the leading edge of the front brackets to the center of the mount hole in the rear. The newer seat is 14-3/4" so just shy of an inch longer. There is room to move the bracket back another 3/4". What i'm doing is making the holes in the new bracket off center by 1/4" which should allow a full inch of movement and make the longer measurement possible. I'm also going to talk to my fiberglass guy about extending the new pan by 1" so it's less of a tight fit. Question to someone that might be more familiar though...what exactly changed to make the measurements longer? Was the rear mount on the frame extended or was the entire bike extended?
When were the changes made? I have a '62 and can measure tomorrow.
