yetman cb77 project

Post by cmineo » Mon Mar 27, 2017 10:57 am

Here is a historical track bike I am lucky enough to finish, it been a project bike for at least 10 years that im aware of ...

The frame belonged to Tim Mings, we apparently bought at the old sears speedway back in the day, in a separate purchase I picked up a sonny angel race fairing that hung in his shop for years ( confirmed by his brother in law) who sent me pictures of the fairing in the loft ....

bike specs

Yetman Racing frame .... Insanely light space frame.
-Redwing 34mm forks (light surface pitting, nothing that will effect performance, Yamaha RD triple clamps, with tapered roller bearings.
-Honda CB77 front wheel, laced to WM2 18 alloy by Bucchanan's Spoke and Rim (Avon tire is old)
-Honda CB72 250cc engine, completely rebuilt. I bought this engine from a Honda restoration shop about ten years ago. It was built out as stock, using all NOS parts, completely rebuilt (including carbs). The level of detail was so good that they even powder coated the cases and some other parts to create a perfect finish. Though this is a 250cc engine, a 305, or even 350cc (Bore Tech or others) top end will bolt on. This is a pretty rare engine, being a CB72. Look at the pics to see that the stator assembly was removed (I was going to use an electronic ignition/stator), and the oil filter cover was removed (I was going to use an oil cooler that attached there)
-Custom megaphones patterned off of CYB77 specs
-CB77 Rear Wheel laced to WM3 alloy rim
-Stock CB77 swing arm and rear set pegs.
-Holtworks built Seeley tank, beautiful aluminum with Monza cap (never had gas in it)
-Airtech racing seat
-New Hagon Racing Shocks
-NOS throttle, clutch, and rear brake cables
-Vintage Tommaselli levers
-Sonny Angel race fairing
-Rear 30 tooth race sprocket
-Front 18 tooth sprocket
-I am running a 305/350 conversion motor until the cb72 motor is completed
-single AMAL392 race carb

Good to hear! Neat project.

The last photo (engine and open megaphone pipes - from the back) makes me think - "CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?"
