Hi,

Your perseverance to turn something good in better, your search for improvements in Laufkultur.
This German word describes it better then any other English word I know.

assembly of Japanese motorcycles requires great peace of mind (Pirsig)

Hi Vince,

Yes that's literally, but the German words is much broader.

Perhaps "refinement" is an appropriate translation?

Or how about 'More money than brains'? That sounds more like it!

On a totally different tack, I got the gas tank back, and it looks better than before. The pinhole is fixed, and Lee used a new buffer that he recently acquired, and the difference really shows. So one more piece of the puzzle!

Unfortunately the powder coating was not ready yesterday, but they did say they would try to have it all ready by Monday -- hope it doesn't turn into one of those endless waiting games that I have been through so many times before! Those are the very last pieces we're waiting on, so I'm crossing my fingers it will all come together next week.

I was talking with John yesterday regarding 'plug chops', and I think we're going to try some. He'll probably follow me out on a road run, and then I'll get it up to WOT and then cut the power and pull off the highway. We'll then do a plug check right there and then to see how they look. Hopefully that will help nail it.
