right side by maybe368, on Flickr right rear by maybe368, on Flickr right front by maybe368, on Flickr left front by maybe368, on Flickr stripped by maybe368, on Flickr welsed by maybe368, on Flickr I have the timing and points set and she starts right up, She is running lean, because if I choke it a bit, she purrs like a kitten. When I rebuilt the carb, I reused the old jets and metering pin. I used the idle adjusters from the kit. Any suggestions? I adjusted the float to 26.5 mms from the gasket surface. Thanks in advance...Mark You didn't stop running because you got old, you got old because you stopped running
I am not sure what you mean by pipes. Can you elaborate for a dummy?...Mark You didn't stop running because you got old, you got old because you stopped running
That's what I thought. No, I am running complete pipes and baffles. You are right, it is very close. If I barely choke it, it is real smooth. Besides the carb oring, any other potential vacuum leaks? Thanks...Mark You didn't stop running because you got old, you got old because you stopped running
There is another O ring between the carb insulator and intake port.
Also, the carb body can become warped from overtightening the mounting screws, a common occurence. If so, that O ring may not seal. Have you tried richening the idle mix screw? (the one closest to the motor) 66 dream, 78 cb750k, 02fz1, 09 wing
Thanks, I'll replace that other oring, The idle mix screw does not seem to have any effect, any ideas or clues from this? Should I put the originals back in. I read in an older thread to not use any of the brass in the kit. Thanks for the help...Mark You didn't stop running because you got old, you got old because you stopped running
