buco bags

Post by Tango911 » Tue Sep 21, 2010 2:27 pm

are buco hard bags supose to be rough like no gelcoat? i have some that are in great shape but have been spray painted with a can. the hinges say buco but have over spray but i dont want to drill out the rivet heads that say buco.

any thots?

do you think they would be expensive to gelcoat?

buco bags

Buco had 3 different types of Twinmaster bags. Gloss white, gloss black and natural white. The natural bags have a semi-rough surface and look more like fiberglass.

thanks mike, the later is what i seem to have. looks a little like fiberglass not finished. little rough.

i think ill try to buff and clean on the riveted metal parts and put fresh paint on the bags.

u cant tell here but upclose the hinges have over spray and such. i still have to wire the lights. looking for little light bulb assembly. you guys thing i should stick with white?

anything is possible if you have the drive blood sweat and tears to get it done!

Thanks Ken, ill have to agree with you and mike, white will be the best. Just need to get some tools to buff or wheel out the metal and get it painted. I think an auto parts store will have the lights i need. then just wire into my parking light. Should i make one light on each side light up with the brake?

I used the bike color on mine. I just never cared much for the contrast of the white bags.

You gotta decide this one. and YES< you have a very nice looking Dream. BTW I used the outer bulbs for running lights (gives it a wider profile for visibility) and the inners for turn ( I wired up a switch for those) . I just kept the bikes brake light for that function.
