Carburetor cylinder head studs

Post by teufelziege » Fri Jun 11, 2010 1:51 pm

Hi gang,

I was wondering if someone could enlighten me. I got some carburetor head studs to mount the carb on my 1963 CA77. I saw in the microfiche there were 40mm and 28mm studs. I got the 28mm studs as I wasnt smart enough to check. Still not sure which is right.

These studs measure 28mm from the long section to the end of the smooth section. (it does not include the short threaded section). When I put these babies in, it seemed to bottom out at the beginning of the smooth section of the stud. It seemed just as long as the other, non-damaged stud that was in originally. When I put the carb spacer (too wide at ~9.5mm?) in and mounted the carb, the threads would not clear the carb flange.

Question: Wrong studs or wrong spacer?

Thanks!!
