The best solo seat?

Post by bj » Sun Oct 26, 2008 5:49 pm

I am looking for a solo seat for my white dream.

There is movie on youtube of a ca77 with a half white, half black solo seat that looks great. I think this is the link.

Anyone know where I can find that one?

I know about the ones on ebay. They are inexpensive, but I don't like the look of the springs as much.

Apex cycle has one for the ca77, but only in black. The one they have for the ca95 looks pretty nice.

I think it would probably work on a CA77, but I am not sure. Does anyone know?

Thanks,
Bryan

I ended up ordering a seat for a c95 from ebay. With just a little tweaking, it will fit no problem. I am sure it will look great, but without even putting it on, I can tell that it won't be long enough for the way I like to sit on the bike. Too bad, because it looks really cool.

When looking at parts manuals for both the c77 and c95 the seats look quite similar, but have different part numbers. I am guess that the c77 seat is longer.

Anyone know where I can get one for a c77 or a copy?

I got a hold of the guy who had the bike in the u tube movie. He says he got it from Apex (everyone's favorite quality parts dealer.) I think it is the same as the all black one that is shown on their web site. I can't figure out what supports the rear of this seat.

Anyone have one?

Thanks,

Bryan

On my Dream I've installed a ~2004 Harley Sportster seat and pillion. It looks something like eBay item 130266991195

Mine was a stock Harley take off seat that I only paid $12 for.

I had bought one of the eBay ~$30 solo seats but they are very small, I did end up using the mount off of it to mount the Sportster seat. It actually fits very nice, follows the contour of the Dream frame almost perfectly. And you could remove the pillion and mount only the driver seat portion, but I think the pillion looks nice.

I mounted an early CT90 seat on a 65 dream and it really is pretty cool with the ribbed cover and white piping. very retro Jap look. not too difficult to fab up and very comfortable. you can buy whole seats/foam/covers from Beatrice cycle brand new.

I actually have a extra ct90 seat. It is much longer than the c95 seat. How did you fabricate a bracket for the a dream? Any chance I can get a pic? I was also thinking about modifying a ct90 luggage rack to fit also. It looks just like the proper one, but the mounts are more narrow.

Thanks

B; couple pics of the CT90 seat. the front mounts are tubing with one end flattened and cut to look like the stock front mount. the rear mount/pad is pretty self explanatory, there are holes in the frame to bolt to already.
Good luck
