You should have 12 volts at the coil when the key is in the correct ON position.
I meant sort of an unknown fault like short, broken wire, wire in the wrong place.
More like something wrong but I'm not sure where or what. .........lm

Those zeros still mess me up. :0 Should I have 12 volts at the coil wire at all times or just when the key is on? My bet is just when the key is on so the battery doesn't drain. When you say wiring fault, are you talking about an exposed wire grounding out somewhere or possibly frayed and not allowing enough juice through?
