Sascha,

My email had a typo. I meant to say clear lenses not clean. I made two round clear tank badges from plexiglas scrap I had lying around. Then on my computer I made artwork to put behind the lenses and just printed them out on my color printer. In my case, it was for an S90 I was riding in a 2 day Motogiro and I put the event name and our team name in place of the original S90 tank badges.

With clear badges, you can put just about anything you want. If they fade in the sun, just print out another set. You are only limited by the capabilities of your graphics software and your own imagination. Here's an idea I had for my S90. Photo the OEM badges and then replace the S90 under the wing with S90RR. You could do this with your 300. Make it 300RR or 300CR for Cafe Racer.

I thought I had a picture of the bike with those tank badges, but I don't have any close-ups of the tank.

regards,
Rob

Hey Guys,

So I had to move the bike out of the house before the wife gets back from Boston... I thought she was ready to run but I was clearly wrong. (this was disappointing)

So below you will see pictures of the bike (completed) but when I tried to get her running she started and ran (idle really high) for about 30 seconds, Here is a list of the problems I encountered:

1. Carb was leaking
2. She started once and then didnt start again - I gave it throttle when it started and it died
3. When I kick it it seemed to kick the kick starter back at me
4. When I try to start it with the kick, I hit a dead stop sometimes like i cant move it any further.
5. It seems like the starters trying to engage when i am kicking it (electronic starter motor).

I need help with this for sure... Im thinking there are two issues:
1. Carb is not set correclty and Im flooding it
2. Timing is off causing it to be hard to start and kicking the lever back...

Thoguhts?

So here is the video - I am having a tuning issue with getting it to rev lower, thinking I dont have the carb on tight enough maybe its letting air in at the mounting plate!?

Congratulations. I just read your entire thread and this was definitely a team effort. I love the restoration concept.

Nice job

So - We have a full runner on our hands, the build is complete (less a minor throttle return issue that I will sort out later) thank you everyone for your help and kind suggestions! I am going to get some high res images and post them for you to see once I get some time.

LM and Brewsky - Thank you espcially for your support and devine wisdom... you two are good fellers for sure!
