CA77 UK RESTORATION

Post by BCSANDERS » Thu Jul 17, 2014 1:56 pm

It has taken me 4 years to finish this project and now it is done.
I imported a CA77 from the USA and have turned into a C77 UK SPEC.
It is all original parts some of which were quite rare such as the turn indicator switch which I found in Japan.
All the work was do by myself except the re chrome ,the original bike was black but I changed it to red to match a C77 I bought new in 1965.
The only thing that is not right is the silencers(Mufflers) which were to cost me $1700 to buy and import to the UK with import taxes etc and the wife was not convinced so hence the Far East alternative.
All that remains now is to get all the paper work done to get it on UK roads the VJMC have looked at it and given me certification so hopefully all should go smoothly.

She's a beauty! I envy your turn signals. I'm just not convinced that drivers know why I'm waving my hands in the air.

Lovely looking bike. Have you looked at the stainless steel mufflers from Overlander in Australia.

Bob750 has them on his Dream restoration.

They would really set your bike off. I bought some early style ones for my 1960 Dream.

I too have a set of Overlander stainless mufflers. The look great and I love knowing that they'll never rust! They bolt right up and they're quiet. I'll mention that the baffle is not removable. I'm very pleased.

Looks good, well done.
I imported a CA77 from the USA and have turned into a C77 UK SPEC.
Not sure what you mean there, you have CA77 bars on it, that was the main difference as I understand it.

I wait to be corrected :)
