In Need Of Gas Tank Chrome

Post by pwilke1 » Wed Oct 12, 2011 11:07 am

Hey guys - I'm looking for either a great condition used covers, NOS or (dare I say) re-manufactured parts. Anyone know of a good source? I found a left panel on eBay which had some pitting. I also checkout Ohio Cycles but without seeing the used parts, I wasn't sure if what would be shipped is better than what I currently have. I'm sitting on two right panels - one with some pitting and one with minor ripple / dents along the top. Also one left with very minor pitting and a small scratch / dent. Assuming I can find a pair of covers, I'd be willing to trade out what I have + $ if needed. At the very least I need to pick up a right panel as the left is decent.

Thanks for the help!

-Patrick

I just thought of it, any idea what the typical cost would be to chrome something like this? I called a local shop but was told that without seeing it they had no way to give me an approximate price. And unfortunately they're quite a bit of a drive from me. I'm not looking for exact, just ballpark as I've never had anything chromed.

Patrick

My chromers in the UK would charge the equivalent of $100 per panel.

G-Man - Good to know because I just dropped them off at a local chrome shop who is doing them for $90 a panel.

Thanks for the feedback.
