Hi - Just got my first Honda, a '64 CA72 - with a newly rebuilt carb, runs pretty good and idles great. Here's a few basic carb questions:
- is choke OFF with the lever in the DOWN position? I do have the manual but it's unclear.
- Lean? After idling - plugs look perfect, toasty brown. If I take it for a fast run, plugs are white - suggesting it's running lean.
I'm going through the handbook and the FAQ, but not clear - does the air mixture screw (assume it's the left screw - close to the engine) affect fast running? Or just idle...can I turn it in to make it slightly richer?
Or maybe it's not an issue. thanks Chuck
CA72 Carb QsRe: CA72 Carb QsChoke off in the down position
Air screw only adjusts idle mixture. To richen the mixture, lift the needle up one notch (move the clip down. G
