engine oil

Post by team roper » Tue May 17, 2016 1:24 pm

Gentlemen, I have looked through the forum but did not find any information on recommended engine oil. I have heard from two different people that 15-40 synthetic (diesel oil), works well in these old engines, ( 1967 CL77 305) but I was wondering what others were using.
Any input will be appreciated, thank you.
George

One of the most participated and debated topics on this forum. Suggest you search for "30W Non-Detergent". Log onto the thread with 228 replies. Get large glass of milk and box of cookies, and prepare to spend the evening.... Regards, Chase

Lots of debate on the oil issue. One thing is certain to my mind; you might do better with something else or worse, but you can't go wrong using what Honda originally recommended.
