Even with standard 15/37 teeth the CL is quite low geared, with a 13 t front sprocket the engine must really be screaming. I've run with a 16t front and 37 rear with no problems at all, just keeps the engine revs that bit lower for the same road speeds. Don't assume that pulling higher gearing will make the bike faster though, could be quite the reverse. That said we're not really riding flat out on these old things (very often anyway) are we?
Topspeed about 60mph, and yes, it screams. :D
1st gear is useless with my combination so I usually take off in 2nd.
I bought 2 new sprockets from Tim at CHR. 37T and 15T.
In doubt whether to install them both... Guess I will try 37-13 first.
The roads I ride are usually limited to 45mph.
