new tires for my cl77?

Post by Richard305 » Wed Jul 13, 2016 7:23 pm

Hi guys, What is the best current tires for my CL77. Would like to use the Dunlop K70s but the front tire is only available in 3.25-19. I think it should be 3.00-19. I like the looks of the Metzeler C block and they are available in 3.00-19 but its not a induro type. What do you suggest??

Which tires?

I suppose it depends on what your actually going to do on your bike. I originally had Bridgestone Spitfires on mine and liked the way the tire filled the fenders, but it's more suited treadwise for maybe the cafe'd out Superhawk, not the Scrambler. So I opted for the Dunlop K70 for a more original look. You mention "enduro"...I've had my CL out one time off road trail riding, and it was the last. I thought it too rough on a 50 year old vintage bike IMO. That Metzler doesn't look to bad either.

The 300x19 K70 Dunlop is still offered in Japan. I watched ebay U.S. and Japan until one came up. Cost around $100 but the look is worth it to me.

The look while not being the exact tread as original is close and fitment to fender is correct. Some like the look of the full fender space with the 3.25x19 while I prefer the closer to original look the 3.00x19 gives. Looks good either way, just passing info along that the size can be had in the K70.

Thanks for your reply.
In this tread was mentioned 300/19 K70 and wondered if you thought that tire was ever installed on the CL77 by HONDA. .........................lm
