Phil

Thanks! Saves me trying to measure up. I think I might buy a few 'just in case'

In answer to G-man's comment Dave Silver has the swing arm shock bushes listed as part no. 40548_268_000 for both the CB77 and CB400F. My understanding is that these bushes were common to a number of different models. I have had sets of these from Dave and can confirm that they fit the CB77 swing arm and OEM rear shock units.

I got the CB72 shock bushings from DSS yesterday. Not even close. They are
2mm larger on both the ID and OD. No help here.

I might buy a couple just to check.

Bad luck there. I assume they are OK for CB72 as they have a CB72 number.

For those of us with the tools - it might be possible to fix that......

I never had any luck with DSS. I ordered a couple of what I thought were nice looking cables from him when I was restoring mine and they were not the correct ones. I try and stay away from his stuff.

I've had tons of good parts from David Silver. The big problem with buying up dealers' old stock is that you are relying on them to keep things in the correct marked bags / boxes for 40 years or more.

I suspect a lot of the leftover parts are 'returns' which got put back in the wrong packaging.

In the case of the shock busings - they were CB72 / CB400F parts so may or may not have worked on the Scrambler.

If there is uncertainty I get them to send a photo.

I am not trying to bash his company--just saying MY experience with him has not been good in the past and because of it, I won't go back.
