CL77 motor - Can it fit in a CB77 or CA frame?

Post by 305explr » Tue Jun 30, 2015 7:17 pm

Hi all - I may pick up a CL77E motor and will have to piece together a bike from s stockpile of parts available to me through the club I'm in and friends I have.
Do I have to find a CL frame, or will the CL motor fit into a CB frame? Or a CA? The attachment points at the top of the motor appear to be different than the 64 CB77 I have...

Thanks in advance,

Andy

You will need the the top engine cover specifically for the type frame you are using, in this case if you put a CB top cover on the CL engine it will fit. However you will not have a tach drive or an electric starter option available without changing the left camshaft and associated parts and the crankshaft and associated parts.

You also need to check the right side engine cover kickstart arrangement.
