Thanks to you, too, Mike.

I'll get back as soon as possible.

CL77 Fenders

Post by dave91 » Thu Sep 01, 2011 8:08 am

Hey LM-
Got the frame number for my 305.

Frame #CL77-1043402

Engine #C_77E 1043438

The bike came with no front fender and a chrome rear fender. I thought it was odd that the rear would have been replaced which is what made me wonder if they were originally.
Also, with the frame and engine number so close is it safe to assume the engine is original? My understanding is that is an indicator based on how they pulled engines off line for testing and returned them to production.

Thanks for your help!!
Dave

As a matter for discussion your bike will considered as a 1967 as it came with the large tail light.
Your bike was issued before HONDA installed CHROME FENDERS. .....lm

If ya mean CL77E-102XXXX I'd refer to yours as a 1966 issue. ..............lm

CL77 Fenders

Thanks again for your help. I actually prefer the painted fenders to the chrome. The only issue is I now need to find front and rear both to be correct. As for the 1967, that's good to know to as I really preferred a '67 since that's the first one I was taken for a ride on when I was about 10 years old.
