Unknown Steering stem
Unknown Steering stemI purchased a steering stem for my CB77 on ebay. It was misrepresented and I didn't look closely enough. Never buy parts while drinking beer.
Here is a picture of it from the bottom. And here's the top of it. Note the nice label that says CB77. It's too expensive to ship it back so I'll sell it at some point but does anyone know what it fits? The double threads must be a clue.
What year is your bike TIM?
May we have the frame number? There is a early issue with larger tubes. .. ................lm
LM,
The frame is CB77-1042697 with the late style fork. (The switch to the new fork style happened at CB77-1030130). It was first registered in 1966 which is the same as the year on the wiring harness. According to my paper manual, my frame requires a stem of part number 53200-268-610 but CMS and a PDF manual published by American Honda do not list this part. They list 53200-268-070 as the only stem used from CB77-1030130 to end of production. DSS has a -070 which I'm tempted to order but any comments would be appreciated.
If you have the one for the tubes you have may I see a pic of the bottom of the lower TC?
I'll return around 2:00 pm this afternoon if you want to call. 830-895-0654 or give me your number. There's something I need to ask and your problem may be answered. ...................lm uote="Tim Allman"]LM, The frame is CB77-1042697 with the late style fork.
