new member, hello from Pennsylvania -- just got a CB77new member, hello from Pennsylvania -- just got a CB77New guy here. My name is Jay, I live in Palmyra, PA (South Central PA, 4 miles East of Hershey).
A CB77 followed me home today. This model has been on my bucket list for some time. It's not my first vintage bike. I also have a pair of CB160's a CL160, a CL175 sloper, and several other vintage bikes (CB400F, BMW R75/5, Ducati Monza 250, plus others). The engine is seized, the right side engine cover is broken (likely from someone trying to start the stuck motor), and the kicker gears are missing. The right side muffler has crash rash. The left header is rusted through and cracked in one spot. Otherwise is it complete, and seems like a solid bike. The chrome is shot on the handlebars in a few spots. No problem there, as I want flat, or at least lower bars on it. The plan is a full restoration, starting with a motor rebuild. I'll then sort it out mechanically, then disassemble it to strip and paint. IMG_8331 by jay_snyder67, on Flickr IMG_8332 by jay_snyder67, on Flickr IMG_8333 by jay_snyder67, on Flickr
Welcome to the forum, Jay. There are a lot of old timers here who know these bikes inside and out from when they were brand new! I'm doing a similar restoration myself and I've found some very helpful info here. I'm looking for some handlebars like yours if you wish to sell them please PM me.

Re: new member, hello from Pennsylvania -- just got a CB77Do you have a front fender?. ............lm
Re: new member, hello from Pennsylvania -- just got a CB77I do have a front fender, though it is chrome. I'll have to take a pic and post it. I think it is at least the right style, so, I could just paint it to match and use it. The chrome looks to be shot just outboard of the clamps on my current bars: IMG_8333 by jay_snyder67, on Flickr I'm not really looking to sell them just yet anyway, as that would make it a bit difficult to move the bike around the shop (although, I guess I could just clamp other bars there for that purpose). Look at the above pic and let me know if you're even still interested in them. Nice project Jay. Kick starts have been broken by trying to kick it over the wrong direction on this model. The CB77 kicker is pushed forward to start.
Also the chrome fender was from the factory on the last 348 machines built. They came on Serial number 1056084 to the last Super Hawk numbered 1056432. Keep us posted on your progress! Thanks for the info (I knew about the kicker, but, not the fender). My bike is 1033327, so, I guess it should have a painted fender to be correct. Did these later models have chrome front and rear fenders, or just front?
