Post by raygray11 » Sat Jul 06, 2013 6:23 am

Hi new member from Essex UK first post

Is it possible to change oil seals on offside of engine without spliting cases.

\have oil leak on newly aquired bike otherwise running fine.

Should be possible. Getting the old ones out will be quite tricky. Which one is leaking?

You may find the seal at the clutch rod is the problem.
No problem removing or installing a new one.
If you find the leak is with a seal in the cases I recommend you use a knife and cut the sharp edge of the case at that location.
Do Not put any sealer as Permatex as the seal will pop out as you ride. ......lm

Many thanks to all for replys.

I had considered looking at the breather also in case that was not helping.

I have had a Vincent for 40 years so am still finding my way round the Honda.

very different sort of animal.

Any luck on the issue ray?

Congrats on the Honda, sounds like you're racking up the cool bikes.
