Hello all,
I am working on my 1967 Superhawk restoration. The way I like to do things is to get everything working and running well, then tear it all apart for paint/chrome/powder coating. Here are my questions:
1. What tires are you guys running and are still available? I am having a hard time finding new tires in the OEM sizes for my bike. 2.75x18 and 3.00x18.
2. What color do you paint the engine crankcase covers and do you paint the engine or leave the engine bare?
3. What color for the air filter side covers and the fenders?
4. And finally, does anyone have the correct paint code for any manafacturer for the original blue color. My bike is a blue bike and I don't see many around in that color so I would like to keep but want to find a good match.
Thanks in advance,
Rob
1967 Superhawk Restoration questions
Side covers and fenders are silver. Engine side covers are painted and the rest is bare. I just got factory size tires from Retro bikes. From what I've gathered some are running Metric tires but the smaller sizes are somewhat hard to comeby. I believe theres a resto going on here now with some nice pictures and details on the blue. Happy painting.
