Nice find Drab. I think you got a pretty good bike for sure. I'm probably going to buy CB77 bike here in MT that isn't nearly as nice as yours but is fairly complete. They guy told me he'd sell it to me for $700 "for sure" and I will probably offer him 500 or 600. Well see. So I'm not trying to pressure you here but the purchasing cost of used CBs seems to be a topic for sure. (see sticky). I'm sorry but I'm dying to know.

OK, but you gotta take location into account.
I am in LA where you can ride year round, and there is a competitive market for older bikes. Old Hondas dont last too long if they are decent and for sale

So I paid about 2.25 times what you are spending on yours. (1750)

In the end I am pretty happy about it. Considering any old CB in decent condition will get 1800-2500 here. But thats LA...if you go a bit further outside you can get something for less, but will have to deal with transport. There was a moment when I was thinking about going through EBay for a much cheaper "unseen" bike. But after shipping, and other hassles...it just wasnt worth it.

BUT, now that I have bought one, I would be a bit riskier and demanding about where and how I get my next one.

Hope it helps

Thanks Drab. I think you got a pretty good bike for a pretty decent price. Especially in LA. Good work and thanks for sharing with us. I just want to say that I appreciate it.

Hi Drap,
Welcome to the forum!!! Looks like you got a good deal. If it was listed as a "cafe" they probably would of wanted more for it!!

Wherebouts in LA are ya??? I'm Glassell Park /Eagle Rock area.

You HAVE TO post the pic of the note on your Flicker pics, that is a classic!!

If you paid 1750 for that bike you got a STEAL! I paid twice that for my unmolested Black 66 that needed nothing but some good elbow grease to clean up. No mechanical issues for me at all.

Great photos! Thanks for sharing.
