Surely a Japanese import would have had a km/h speedo, also? A bit difficult to say that the mileage is genuine if it has an mph speedo :-)

hi G, i think the speedo is 62 as well as the alloy ring, iam not interested in buying this bike, i was just looking for 61 parts, and came across this so called 1960/61 that the seller is saying it is, and thought i would list it on here, so we all can see it.
it has a 7 digit frame no, in my book says that is 65-67, which would look like its right for that no.
he swears by the shop he purchased it from in japan that its the first model, i just wished him good luck with his sale, and pointed him to this forum. alan

got the seller to publicly share the engine/frame numbers. we can all agree that this machine is not any of the following as described by the seller:

-very original
-japanese domestic model
-early production

How does one tell the 1960/61 CB72/77 rear fender from the later ones. What are the differences?

channel for the wiring is underneath the mudguard, also has a centre hole, not on the side for the wires.
