Thanks for that tip Glenardo, I'll give it a try on the next rusty piston I fight with, which may be soon. I do have one more on my shop floor I need to deal with this winter.
Back when, I once soaked rusty pistons with military aircraft fluid and it did the trick but I haven't seen 5606 since I quit wrenching on army choppers years ago. RW

Isn't 5606 the hydraulic fluid (red) that we still use in even our private aircraft systems? Available from Aircraft Spruce and many other vendors...?

Not sure about that since I haven't wrenched on aircraft for 35 years. Oh God, do I ever feel oooooooold now. I'm so old I spell old with eight "O"S. I think I'll go hide somewhere. RW
