Say WHAAAAAAT!? Sacrilege! Stick with it; put it on eBay with a reserve to cover your fees and minimum asking price.

Interesting turn in this thread, I'm sensing a gotcha moment in the making.

No I really was thinking about parting it out. After thinking about it and getting couple PMs I am gonna leave it together and post it on the Bay. I will post the link to it when its listed. Starting bid is gonna be 1700 I think thats fair.
Thanks,
Lancaster

From a strategy standpoint, it's better to set the reserve at $1700 and open bidding up at $1200 or something even lower that people feel stupid for not bidding. Sure they'll see that the reserve has not been met but it's a lot easier to get momentum going with the bids if it starts off lower. Then you have people with lower budgets that start bidding it up at the beginning and people get caught up in the auction sometimes.

If you start it off high, it immediately eliminates some of the lower bidders and the bike appears to have less interest. Therefore, people that are interested, wait longer to bid and don't feel like they're battling it out as much.
