1962 Superhawk Restoration: Here I goEdit: I spoke to Ohio Cycle today. I was informed that the shocked they had in stock were very "used". So I went ahead and picked up the eBay shocks. *cha-ching* $165.
I've decided that there's no avoiding it. The rear shocks must be replaced. I was looking at a set of unpainted shocks on eBay, which would be about $160 with shipping. But it looks like Ohio Cycle has them (52400-268-000B) as well for $55 each PAINTED black. They're listed under they used section, though it doesn't describe their condition. I'll try and give them a call tomorrow, but I have a really hard time getting ahold of anyone there.

LOL, you got it! I have a set of allen head case screws I plan to put back on. The philips heads are a real pain to get off. My bike ain't going in a museum, it's going to be a rider, so I can live with this little modification :) On the oil filter, I just opened it up and cleaned it out. I can't see much that can go wrong with this part. Just get the spacer back in the right place. Your shift linkage looks the same as mine. I was just cleaning it up the other day so I was looking at it close. Gunner
