1968 CB77 - Just picked up and lots of questionsRe: Very customGood laugh in the morning...thanks.
I'll see about getting some pics of the exhaust. I'm sure I'll be taking it off sometime soon.
Did some more diagnostics on the bike and found a few things. I'm pretty sure I'm only running on one cylinder. The left side blows hot from the exhaust while the right side has lower pressure and never heats up. I need to check the plugs and wires and see what's going on with that. The odd thing is that the right side carb adjustment screw makes the engine respond while the left side does not. Also, in his infinite wisdom, the last guy welded the left foot peg together at the joint so it doesn't swing back. Makes for putting the kick stand up a serious pain as I usually have to do it before I get on the bike. if anybody has a used one a reasonable price, shoot me a PM.
Any reason ya don't show your location so I can have an idea where I might want to send a part?. ............lm
What ya describe can be the jets and/or fuel/air passages are blocked/clogged in both carbs.
Points are set correctly?. .........lm
Thanks LM, I haven't checked the points yet. previous owner said that he sent it in for service to get it running as it was sitting for a while. I don't think they did a full service after what I'm finding though, just enough to make it start. I'm guessing a carb kit, points, and new plugs need to be on the top of my list.
