OK here is the scoop. I just scored 4 CB77 Superhawks. Unfortunatly all of the paperwork is lost in the sands of time. For the purpose of writing the most accurate Bill's of sale I need to figure out the years or at least a reasonable guess. I have tried every search I could think of but can't find a definitive cutoff for each model year vs the frame number on the steering tube.

My frame numbers are:
CB77-1007799
CB77-1006717
CB77-1003970
CB77-1039589

I have already purchased both of Bill Silvers manuals and the factory service manual, but I am not sure when they are going to show up. The best info I found online was really a hard to decipher chassis and engine code sheet cross reference. So, I'm not making much headway.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a pic of the bikes to wet your whistle:

Two red ones! Nice score. Barn find?
I cant help you with the numbers but someone else will in short time. There are many on this forum with great amounts of knowledge about these old Honda bikes.

Sort of a barn find. A friend of a friend never got to them.

The second red one has a black frame, so your guess is as good as mine. Luckily they are all very complete. Far from perfect but very complete.

I wish there was a lookup to see what the original configuration was based on the frame numbers.

That's a wonderful find. How are the muffs? Are you planning on restoring all of them?
Congratulations

You can't win them all, so I have 2 good right mufflers and one good left, 1 haggard left, one haggard right and 3 are missing. Im not sure if I will do all of them. I think it would be a blast to have 2. Maybe resto-mod one? Depending on the quality of what is left over maybe sell it of as a whole or parted out? I have only had them for 2 days and I kind of just fell into them so no real solid plans yet.

For the time being the closest one in the pic will be a rider once I get the paperwork sorted out. Im really exited about it. After 20 years or 600-1000cc Honda sport bikes.

This forum is a great resource!
