Yes it states that it is a remanufactured part, but it does appear to be of a pretty high quality. My sidestand is waiting at home for me! When I get home I will take a bunch of pics and post them, along with the installation process.

looks pretty shoddy if you ask me...poor casting surface and didnt bother to grind off the flash on some of the edges. they have it listed as NOS, but state in the auction that it is a reproduction part. i'm not impressed that they took pictures of it with "genuine honda parts, made in japan" in the background.

Looks like it was sand cast, which explains the surface. All of the important mounting point have been fly cut flat and then plated. Marketing aside, it is still a pretty good job. I would have to x-ray to see how well the casting really is.

Side stand installation

Post by hardlyrock » Sun Feb 22, 2015 1:10 pm

I sure am happy to see these photos of a side stand in place on a bike. Thank you.
The parts diagram blow up is a puzzler.
I just purchased a 1967 CB77. It came with a new looking cast iron side stand and bracket in a box I was told it cost $140us + shipping on March 3, 2013 from Ebay seller Motopartsetc in MA,USA
I have no idea if it is a genuine part? Can any one tell from my photo?
I can't wait put this option on my bike.

Hello Jensen.
The pic has been removed but that issue is the one if you sat on the seat while the bike was leaning to the left side would bend out and down ya went.
It didn't have the same frame part design that the HONDA part does. ..............lm

CB77 Side Stand

It would be nice to see photos of a Genuine Honda mounting bracket and side stand, not on a bike, to see how they differ from mine.

The parts you show are correct but you don't show the proper (special bolt and spring) so you can put the mount to the rear of the engine and frame and you will see how simple the install is.
I did it when I was 22 years old ...............lm
WHEW that was a while back!
