Superhawk StoriesSuperhawk StoriesI'm writing an article for the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club Magazine and I would like to hear your Superhawk story. Everybody has one so please send me your story and I will make part of the VJMC article. A period picture or two would be great as well. Sometimes the picture tells the story!
Great story. I've owned and retored several Norton Commandos and now have a CA78 dream. These little bikes get into your blood. I still miss the roar of the big brit bikes but I now love the easy kick start of the 305. I never use the electric start. Some people would say that you,ve hurt the value of the bike with all the changes, I disagree. These bikes aren't Vincent black shadows and will never bring that kind of six figure money. Enjoy your's the way you like it. Again, beautiful bike.
They are like any old bike, car, boat or anything with a motor. They need to be taken care of and kept in top form to perform as they should. The Brit bikes are beautiful to look at and fun to ride but also need alot of tuning to keep them happy. Amal carbs are usually wore to the point of leaking air and want idle like they should. They also vibrate a little more than the honda 305. I like ridding both of them but I like the easy kick start of the Honda. A HOT Norton sometimes will kick you are hard as you kick it.
