Honda Superhawk 300

Post by winsur4 » Sun Nov 26, 2006 11:18 pm

I just inherited a 1963 Honda 300 Superhawk. It belonged to a friend that I rode with in the 60's, I was riding a 66 X-6 Hustler. The perfect and original tank badges say 300. This is the only one I have ever seen. I have often asked friends my age who were Honda riders about the "300" and they haven't heard of it either. Was this a short lived model designation? Will it make any difference when I order parts?

Congrats...
The 300 is the 305. They just called them 300s. My tank badges say 300 as well, the bike is a CB77, 305cc's.
Happy motoring...brother scum

Inherited? Nice score. Yup, those were the days when makers underpromised and overdelivered. Not like today, when a bike with 701 cc's is likely to be called a 750.

Yep, all the 305s I ever saw here - we called 'em "305SS" in the day, but I do not know if Honda did - were badged "300", just as mine is.
