Some pics of the new bike, hopefullySome pics of the new bike, hopefullyI will try to post some shots of the barn find. I posted yesterday without any shots, so will try tonight.
thanks guys.
The pink seat is just the foam, no cover. Has any one bought the cheap seats from the Far East, or the one from Apex Cycle? Onch, I thought I had read something about that but couldn't remember for sure. Where would one buy acetone? Isn't that nail polish remover? Where are you in the Adirondaks? Thanks
On the seat, you are just missing the cover, and there are a few people who make these on e-bay. I repaired my cover so I don't know who sells the best seat cover. The cover is not that difficult to put on. The chrome trim is hard to find. I used self adhesive auto trim. If you pull the thin pink layer of foam back, you can see the condition of the other foam. I rebuilt my seat using the existing foam. I used foam from a fabric store. It was not as firm as the existing seat foam so I used it to fill in the open spaces between the old foam. I used spray adhesive I also found at the fabric store to re-assemble the seat foam. I used a new sheet of thin foam to replace the top (pink) foam. After putting the cover back on, my seat turned out good, it was nice and firm. You will also see a white piece of stiff foam on the seat back. Try to re-use this part. If you can't, I used some stiff thin sheets of self adhesive craft foam from a craft shop. I layered these until I had a good stiff replacement. If you have any questions on rebuilding the seat when you get to this, let me know. I may be able to find some pictures. It won't do you much good until you get your motor work done :) Gunner
