Dream Poster Child

Post by vanquire » Sun Feb 08, 2009 12:18 am

Hey Sparg - thanks and thanks! Shooting with a Canon EOS-1ds.( An older pro digital) w/ 100mm lens that makes for short focus.

I read the reference thread and went straight to my parts manual and found the carb's exploded view does show the overflow tube. I think its just a safety thing...

Here's a shot I did of a Dream I used to own. Bought it in Virginia and sold it to a gal in Canada! I used to sell this poster on eBay as a limited edition print.

I know, I know... this is the CB77 column!!!

Hey there lm,

I noticed it on page 46, E-14, Left Carburetor. Its kinda lost on the page. But in the upper left of the exploded view there is the assembly view - labeled #1. See attached scan...

But I have seen Hawks without them too. I'm not sure what to think...

Is there a way to post a small movie file or sound bite? Maybe you can get a better idea of what may be causing my engine noise?

Thanks!!!

That is a brass tube which is part of the atmosphere balance in the carb to allow gas to flow to a certain level and speed. No other tube is shown attached to it. .............lm

You may need to use a free file hosting site. I use box.net or savefile.com.

My Honda Dream is noisy to.
Runs and starts great. 30000km. But just like you say it sounds like valves hitting the pistons.
Only sometimes with the somewhat higher revs.
I know my tensioner has been worked. But... I think if it was the camchain then you should hear it on the lower revs.

Anybody with the same experience?
