New owner of a 64 and a 69 looking for some help

I'm a bit naive, what could someone do with anothers frame number? All i can imagine is if someone was custom making their own frames and selling them as originals... which I'm pretty sure would cost more to fabricate than you could make off of the transaction.

The only problem I can think of is if the bike was stolen at one time. Slim chance of that. If someone could have the police run the vin no. and it comes up stolen it could be confiscated. If your worried about that you wouldn't want to fix it up anyway.

interesting. though i can't imagine anyone here doing something like that unless the vin turned out to be a bike that was stolen from THEM!!

Gun, I agree,it would be an extreme longshot.
If I didn't have a title for a bike I would probably have the number run anyway before i'd sink any money into it.

Stout, Just post all but the last three numbers. That way you can get some help and still be "safe" .Man,that sounds bad. But you don't need to take it that way ;-) Kustommusic
