Battery lead question

Post by mjmudd » Wed Jun 06, 2007 9:27 pm

The parts book shows one red (positive lead) wire to the battery and the ground on the left side attaching to the frame. My bike has 2 red wires. The larger one is black with the red end coming from the starter magnetic switch and the thinner one is a red cloth wire with white markings and a red end coming from the rectifier (this is the one with the fuse). Has anyone seen this configuration and can you verify that both of these go to the positive post?

Thanks,

Mike

Yes, you are correct. The small wire with the fuse, along with the larger guage wire that goes to the starter solenoid all go to the positive side of the battery. That is the way mine is hooked up. Also why the previous owner of my bike couldn't make it run since there wasn't a ground wire.
