Transistorized Ignition

Post by Glenardo » Wed Feb 08, 2012 9:01 pm

Has anybody looked into these for the CB77s???

http://sohc4shop.com/catalog/product_in ... ucts_id=32

I just bought a '75 CB750 and killing time looking around online when I came across these. From what I can tell, the guy that makes them is a CB750 guru, even has a restoration book published. According to the SOHC4 forum, these things are a great improvement.

Wouldn't these work for our CB77's??? It's not an electronic ignition but it seems like a less expensive upgrade.

I installed one of these units on my 1974 CB550 and the bike ran great. I would think it should work fine on these bikes.

I wonder if this is the same type unit. I've talked to a few people who have used these and swear by them.

Here's another way to do it for a little less money:

It uses ignition modules available at any automotive parts store.
