Hello,
I am a new Superhawk owner and I need some pointers on removing the tank. For some reason the breather tube at the top of the cylinder head detached at some point. Basically that is my problem for the moment and I appreciate any help... I am no mechanic, but I will sure as heck try and learn.

Tank RemovalHey Brian, Welcome to the wonderful world of 305 Superhawks. To remove the fuel tank, you need to first drain the fuel from the tank. For me it works best to detach both fuel lines going to each carberator and route the fuel lines into a funnel that is attached to a gas can of some sort. Than you can use the petcock valve to control the flow. Drain all the fuel including the reserve. Then remove the fuel line that joins the left and right side of the tank.
Next remove the seat using I believe a 14mm on the two bolts on the rear of the seat. Pull the seat back and set aside. Then remove the 10mm nut that holds the tank to the frame at the rear of the tank. After that, lift the tank up and rock it backwards slightly to free it loose of the front rubber cushions that the tank sets in. Thats it!!! Kind of a pain, draining the fuel and all. Some Superhawks don't have the fuel line connecting the left and right sides. In that case you can just remove the tank without draining. Good luck and have fun. Dizcod TankHey Brian, great to see you on the site, and asking questions! This site is an icredible wealth of knowledge, and will help you keep her running forever!
