Thanks Ed. He had some Cheng Shins on eBay a while back but reckoned the shipping cost would make them expensive for me here in Spain. I'll email him and ask if he has D K70s.

Due respect, Ed, but I'll bet that the US road surface engineers are considerably better at blacktop technology than they are here! We have surfaces that, when dry, are slipperier than those in my home country when wet! And when it rains here it's like driving on ice, literally. The granite & stone content in the Majorcan tarmacadam has been so high during past decades in order to withstand the summer temperatures; really disastrous for tyre adhesion. I'll avoid tyres less grippy than those that I've personally sampled: K70s, K81s (TT100s), etc.. My BSA A7SS was solid on K70s, as was my original CB77 (even with the rear tyre soaked in oil! -- another story) and both my GT380s could be laid hard-over on TT100s. It's a matter of self-preservation here.

I'd really like a reasonably-period-looking pair of rubbers, so Metzelers are out. As are Avons. I don't even like Dunlop K82s, so I'm hanging on for something appropriate & NOS. I currently have what appears to be eastern European, but can't remember what. I'll take a look next time I'm in the garage.

I know this is an old thread, but figured the best place to ask this so the next guy looking gets the benefit of the answers.

Has anyone installed the K70 3.50-19 front on the rear of their CL77? I figure you just turn it around so the strength is in the engine power direction and should be okay. Would make a nice mate to the 3.24-19 front. Also looks very similar to the original Yokohamas.

Thanks,
Rob
