Speedometer cable direction of rotation under power.

Post by Eljeef » Sat Oct 22, 2016 6:55 pm

Hi folks. I have an issue with my Speedo. It doesn't seem to work. I disassembled and lubricated it and put it back together. I would like to spin it with my variable speed drill to diagnose but don't know which way to run the drill. Help!

Thank you. I was concerned about breaking it if I chose the wrong direction. I'll give it a shot.

I took a peace of the speed cable and put it in a drill and had to run the drill in reverse to get the pseedo to work, the drill was going 60 mph.

Well, I tried it both directions and nothing happened. I'm not sure if the cable is making contact with the Speedo internals. I will have to pull it out and look further.
