Serial number question

Post by maxdog » Mon Jun 08, 2015 1:04 pm

Good day,
How were the serial numbers set up for cl77 bikes? Since the start of the model line, were they sequential through the years, or were some numbers year specific (like a certain range of numbers)? To add to the mix, were the dreams and superhawks mixed into the scrambler numbers? Does anyone have a chart/spreadsheet of numbers by years? Thanks.

Maxdog

Up to '64 the first digit of the engine / frame number was the year. "3" for 63. After that an extra digit was added and they all ran in the same sequence to the end of production in '67.

This is a chart for CBs. The scrambler and Dream numbers were not the same sequence but had their own.

Thanks!

Does anyone have something similar for Scramblers, Dreams? I have a scrambler CL77 1967 and most interested in the scrambler line. But all this info may be useful for everyone.

Thanks again!

Yes, I've posted this and the Dream list many times on this forum. I do not have the scrambler list but it is in Bill Silver's books.

It's the first page in the Honda parts manuals.
